  • and building a resort?

trump needs personally bought off and everytime someone does he thinks every prior bribe suddenly wasn't enough.

He's 100% looking at what he just got in bribes from other ME countries and re-evaluating what his support of Israel should be worth.

Israel might have had blackmail on him, but he's at the stage where nothing can really change anyone's minds. If it comes out there's a tape of 20 9 years old peeing on him while he wears an Obama mask; they'll claim he just cured racism or some shit.

Hell, there's a good chance less support if Israel was some of the strings of his recent bribes even.

  • Replacing First-past-the-post voting with STAR or Ranked Choice voting in every single blue state. Democrats believe in democracy right?

Ok, but the state parties run their own primaries...

Like, you really need to understand how our political system works in order to change it. But the good news is we already fixed one of the two parties! You're upset for no logical reason right now, and you can just let it go.

  • Yes, but again, he didn’t know it was a dogwhistle

Also, the sun came up this morning. And experts say it will likely happen again tomorrow...

He wasn't aware of it, became aware of it, so he apologized and removed the video.

That doesn't invalidate his original message and doesn't need to keep being rehashed.

We can just move on instead of constantly repeating true things, but if that's what we're doing let's look at the silver lining at least and talk about how the planet hasn't literally plunged into eternal darkness yet.

  • They are redoing a vice chair election because one of the vice chairs they picked decided to push for primary challenges to the old guard.

The process started almost immediately after the election. Long before Hogg made any comments as a Vice chair, and he has been aware it has been happening this entire time.

You don’t redo an election once the elected people take office

Again, the process started at latest right after the election.

How were the people who hadn't been seated yet supposed to clean up the mess before they were seated?

Seriously, how is that logically supposed to have worked out in your mind?

  • All by himself?

    Yes...

Chairs are dictators accountable to no one.

So the Buck always stops with the Chair.

    here too?

    Didn't then, isn't now.

reads like all the delusion about Musk establishment Democrats had in ages gone by. “Look at all the great things he’s doing for the planet!”

    What?

This is saying it safe to assume he'll run this political party like he ran the last one.

If you're looking for something with the direct skill transfer, a state party chair to DNC chair is about as close as you can get.

    That’s a contradiction.

This word, I do not think it means what you think it means...

You got your marginal surface level improvements

    No, it's foundational improvements....

After literally 50 years of rightwing bias from the party. We finally have a chair willing to run fair primaries...

If you don't understand how huge of a win this is, then you need to read up on party history.

You didn't just sleep in past the battle, you woke up ready to fight after the war is over. We won, the goal was never to be as bad as neoliberals when they were in charge, it was to even the playing field.

  • In what way?

That when the loser of an election complained the DNC didn't follow the DNC's rules, the chair sent it to a committee who suggested a revote, which will now go to all voting DNC members and if they decide to redo the Vice chair election in accordance with rules they will then revote?

    Because...

    1. I really don't think that's what would have happened, I feel like they would have admitted no fault since it was their mistake or just sat who they wanted anyways. I can't see any prior chair kicking it to committee instead of just unilaterally making the decision they personally wanted.
    2. How do you think a Democratic political party should handle something like this? And keep in mind current leadership weren't the ones to cause it and couldn't have prevented it. What would you have done as chair?
  • No child left behind already stripped it from public education...

Because there was zero incentives for a school performing well. And serious repercussions if a school failed multiple years, the worst schools had to focus only what was on the annual test. The only thing that matters was that year's scores, so that was the only thing that got taught.

If a kid got it early. They could be largely ignored so the school could focus on the worst.

It was teaching to the lowest common denominator, and now people are shocked the kids who spent 12 years in that system don't know the things we stopped teaching 20+ years ago.

    Quick edit:

Standardized testing is valuable. For lots of rural kids getting 99*'s was how they learned they were actually smart and just for in their tiny schools.

The issue with "no child left behind" was the implementation and demand for swift responses to institutional problems that had been developing for decades. It's the only time moderates and Republicans agreed to do something fast, and it was obviously something that shouldn't be rushed.

  • They're not gonna eat the price.

They may hide the cost of the tariffs instead of breaking it out, but there's no way they just keep prices the same. Especially with 100% plus tariffs, they'd be losing money with every sale.

But Amazons while business model is cheap shit sent fast, even if they raise prices to keep margins, they're going to lose a lot of volume unless they raise it even more.

The only part of this good for big business, is everything not a billion dollar corporation already so gonna have to sell or go bankrupt

  • Thanks for backing up my point: All complaints to Biden, nothing to Congress or Trump. Even if Biden tried to cut funding to Israel, Congress would have overridden him.

    Literally the opposite happened...

For the second time this month the Biden administration is bypassing Congress to approve an emergency weapons sale to Israel as Israel continues to prosecute its war against Hamas in Gaza under increasing international criticism.

    https://apnews.com/article/us-israel-gaza-arms-hamas-bypass-congress-1dc77f20aac4a797df6a2338b677da4f

Congress didn't want to because there was evidence US arms were being used in the genocide.

Biden violated the Leahy Law by personally going around Congress and "selling" bombs to Israel.

You're spreading blatant revisionism about recent events all over, even when people inform you. So it's really looking like intentional misinformation on your part.

  • They

Who is "they"? The people no longer in power?

Fuck them, you'll never see me defend them.

But it's Ken Martin now, and he didnt just show up 3 months ago fully formed...

We can look at how he ran Minnesota's state party, turned a purple state blue and made it one of the most progressive states in the country.

Because while he isn't overtly progressive, what he cares about is winning elections. And he knows voters want progressive policy and fair primaries.

It's not like he's gonna be our Superman, but after 50+ years of Lex Luther running the party, we really don't need anything more from the party.

A fair primary is all it takes to get neoliberals out of office.

  • It wasn't just there, it existed long before the nazis

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel

I don't expect people to have an all encompassing knowledge of racism/bigotry, but yeah...

That sounds like it would warrant a legitimately sincere apology if the artist was unaware. I don't understand what the problem is there, that's what a rational person would do.

  • Last week, the 64-year-old apologised after it emerged he had reposted a pro-Palestine video on social media that criticised Zionism and included an illustration of a rat.

A rat is an antisemitic trope that was used in Nazi Germany to characterise Jews as vermin. Lineker said in a statement that he would “never knowingly share anything antisemitic” and had deleted the post “as soon as I became aware of the issue”.

So first off, fuck Bibi and his genocide.

But yeah. Representing the Jewish people with a rat isn't something we should be doing due to historical connotations.

  • There had been several legal battles over forced-reset triggers, which replace the typical trigger on an AR-15-style rifle. The government for years had argued they are essentially illegal machine gun conversion devices because constant finger pressure on the triggers will keep a rifle firing essentially like an automatic.

It's basically a spring that forcibly resets the trigger even if your pulling it.

So if you keep squeezing, it's going to keep shooting.

So they say "essentially" a full auto, but they really could have dropped the "essentially", that shits full auto:

  • They’re openly, publicly, and repeatedly saying they’re be impartial and backing that with their actions.

Martin isn't going to "go after" anyone.

But he's not going to protect incumbents just because they're incumbents.

It's all progressives need to kick out the dinosaurs, we don't need the party to do it for us, just to not put a gun to our head and say it's a neoliberal or a Republican.

  • It's been three months now...

They're redoing a vice chair election the old DNC fucked up instead of just picking one

They're openly, publicly, and repeatedly saying they're be impartial and backing that with their actions.

They've been pushing local meetings in areas where local politicians refuse to meet with their constituents...

What more did you want in 3 months of taking over?

Seriously, what will make you feel more comfortable in trusting the new DNC?

    What do you want?

  • Well...

I highly doubt that Jill is keeping a close personal eye on his prostate...

However I think if Gerry Connelly wouldn't have gotten so much blowback for "finding out" he had cancer like the day after the election, I believe this would have been announced earlier.

And I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they found out while Biden was president and just didn't say anything.

There's a new DNC now, but I wouldn't have trusted the last one on anything

  • Google search currently uses 1.05GWh/day. ChatGPT currently uses 621.4MWh/day

    ....

    And oranges are orange

It doesn't matter what the totals are when people are talking about one or the other for a single use.

Less people commute to work on private jets than buses, are you gonna say jets are fine and buses are the issue?

Because that's where your logic ends up
