I'm listening to the audio book of Brandon Sanderson's latest Stormlight Archive book, and "You only use spoons for soup!" was the very last sentence I heard before stopping last session.

You can actually install it from one USB drive to another and have a "real" install that boots when you put the drive in. I did that for a year at an old job that wouldn't give me admin on my box 😆

Work memory unlocked:

I once was tasked with a metaphorical trip to the basement to fix Cthulhu knows what in the Old Code. Thing was built on top of an ancient CLI tool that consumed and returned SOAP XML. It was terrible.

I spent a month untangling that mess and even pushed a fix to the tool. About a month later I get a phone call from someone asking me if "I was the guy who fixed the tool". I said yes and was immediately offered a job to take over as lead dev on that team. Sensing a trap I politely declined. Dude sighed and basically said not to worry, it would have been miracle to find someone the day before he quits.

Felt like this:

If you want to mess around with Linux with minimal risk, install it to a USB drive. You'll need two drives: one to act as the boot hard drive and one to serve as the installation drive. Assuming your laptop can boot from USB, this should work fine for learning Linux.

Even cheap thumb drives will work, you don't need a fancy SSD drive.

I'm in no way familiar with Oglaf's story lines, but given the nature of the comic, it's likely a literal f a gg ot hat, that is, a hat made out of a bundle of sticks (even this etymology is contested, but I have to believe that's the joke).
