Yeah it's a terrible feeling giving up a sport bc it's too hard on ya. Like I really love Judo but I just can't throw myself at the floor repeatedly any more. But I might be able to do Aikido or low-contact Karate (or just strength training which is what I chose). The trick is knowing when to move on, and it's a tough decision.
Sounds like we should never go to Camelot for 'tis a silly place.
this follows from Zorn’s lemma.
Thanks, I'm gonna have to take a closer look at this later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zorn%27s_lemma
To help spread positive vibes, news headlines should replace "killed" with "arrived in Heaven".
I was watching a youtube movie review and I didn't realize it was AI til it started using the term "self-delete".
Dunno, decades of enshittification might happen overnight, like a singularity. A shitgularity, as it were.
But Comcast/Xfinity is truly, truly horrible. Their tech support sucks and there are some account-related things you need to talk to them for. I feel stressed just thinking about it.
Still trying to wrap my head around how a partial ordering plays out here. I think it's fair to say that for any such nonempty spectrum, there exists at least one person about whom it can be said: "nobody is gayer than they are." Right? (even if 1 or more people are equally gay...)
Totally misses the people at sea who were kung fu fighting.

Chad, slugs are just snails without houses. Real American slugs build barns for each other and then they're free snails. European slugs get government housing and then the French eat them. Think about that for a while.
they spoke German ... at first seeming far-fetched
It's not that far-fetched bc at the time Transylvania was in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and German was an official language (along with Hungarian and Croatian).
If you look at this map of the A-H Empire and refer to 5 May's reference to the Borgo Pass (now called the Tihuta Pass) I think they're somewhere between Bistriz and Suezcowa on that map in grid I-c. I think they were technically in the Hungarian sphere of influence, but the Hungarians were only co-rulers since 1867 and the Draculas were old nobility so it's not surprising they spoke German from when the Austrians were the sole rulers. This is all kinda obscure now, but Austria-Hungary was a major power back in the 1800s, I mean the Austrians were one of the main allies who took down Napoleon for example, and nobody knew A-H was going to collapse after WW1.
I think English schooling back then included a classical language -- usually Latin? -- as well as a modern language -- often French but German is certainly plausible.
The bug-eye makeup is … well, just watch it.
ikr that's got to be turned into some kind of reaction meme, but I dunno for what
where sling, or bow, or culverin could not reach
"A culverin was initially an ancestor of the hand-held arquebus, but the term was later used to describe a type of medieval and Renaissance cannon."

"That'll do, SpiderBabe, that'll do."
Notice how he's not looking at her or at the camera. That's because he's already checking out the third sister.
You can just tell they got Asterix & Obelix in that ship.
"Fuck the World" by Richard Cheese - cover of the Insane Clown Posse song in a "lounge" style. I think Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine does a lot of covers of "heavy songs" in that style but I dunno much about them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Cheese
